Pramati Server 3.5 Administration Guide
1 Start and connect to the cluster node.
2 Click Start > Programs > Pramati 4.1 > Deploy Tool. The ‘Connect To Server’ window appears,
and asks you to enter the password for the realm ‘system’ and user name ‘root. The default
password to be entered is ‘pramati’. Click ‘Connect’.
3 The Deploy Tool UI appears.
4 Click Archive > Open. Browse to the location of the application that is to be deployed.
5 The number of tasks that you need to resolve appear in the Status bar. Resolve all the tasks, and
click Archive > Deploy.
6 The application is automatically deployed on all the running nodes of the cluster.
Effects of deploying an application on Cluster node
Deploying an application on a cluster node is the same as deploying it on a Standalone Server.
However, these additional factors are valid for a cluster:
Any application deployed on one node of the cluster is automatically deployed on all other
running nodes in that cluster.
Automatic application synch-up occurs when a node starts. If a cluster node (say N2) is not
running when the application is deployed on another cluster node (say N1), the application is
available on N2 after you start it.
Any change in the application state is reflected on all the nodes.
Application resources and security realms are replicated across the nodes.
Location of the extracted application
An application deployed on a specific cluster node is extracted to:
<install_dir>/server/nodes/<node_name>/archives/
Stopping Cluster
To stop a Cluster, use the ‘Stop Cluster’ option provided on the Console. This prompts you for a
confirmation for the action. Selecting ‘OK’ stops the Cluster, and you are notified.
You need to explicitly click on the ‘Refresh’ button provided on the Server Administration Service
page to display the current status of the cluster. Once the cluster is stopped, a checkbox is made
available for deletion of the same on the Server Administration Service.
To stop a connected node of a Cluster, use the ‘Stop’ option provided after selecting the node on the
Console.
Deleting Cluster
You can delete a cluster only when it is stopped.
To delete a cluster, select it using the checkbox provided, and click ‘Delete’.
