Installing Pramati Server on Unix-based
Platforms
To install Pramati Server on Unix based platforms:
1 Verify your existing system configuration against the requirements for Pramati Server.
2 Execute java -jar PServer41.jar from the directory where the installation file is
downloaded (or from the CD, if you are installing from a product distribution CD).
3 The installation wizard starts and the license agreement appears. To proceed with the
installation, select "I accept the terms of license agreement" and click ‘Next’.
4 Select the directory where the Server is to be installed. You must have write permissions
on this directory.
5 Specify the path of the supported JDK (say, JDK 1.3.1_01) installed on the machine.
Specifying an incorrect path leads to an incomplete installation.
6 Enter the licensee name. This can be the name of the evaluator or the customer in whose
name the license has been issued.
7 Enter the license key.
The installation starts using the above values.
Verifying Server installation on Unix-based platforms
1 Start the shell and go to the directory <install_dir>/server/bin.
2 Make runserver.sh executable by typing the command:
$ chmod 755 runserver.sh.
To run the executable file, type: ./runserver.sh
3 This should start the Server and bring up the Server Shell prompt. This prompt is used
for performing Server administration and deployment tasks.
4 To shut down Server, run shutdown at the default prompt. The Server should stop and
return you to the shell prompt.
Verifying installation of Deploy Tool on Unix-based
platforms
1 To verify installation of Deploy Tool, Pramati Server should be started.
2 To verify the Deploy Tool in a Pramati Server installation, open a command prompt
and go to the directory
<install_dir>/server/bin.
3 To verify a Deploy Tool installation, go to the directory, <install_dir>/
deploytool/bin.
